STANDARD CONTRACT FOR SINGLE FAMILY HOME SEPTIC PLANS
PROJECT LOCATION AND OWNER:
DESIGN ENGINEER: THE DESIGN ENGINEER WILL BE ONE OF THREE FIRMS LISTED BELOW. THE DESIGNER WILL BE CHOSEN BASED ON THE PROJECT’S LOCATION AND THE WORKLOAD EACH DESIGNER HAS AT THE TIME SERVICES ARE NEEDED:

ENGINEERING FEES DURING THE DESIGN PHASE OF A SINGLE FAMILY SEPTIC SYSTEM

ENGINEERING SEPTIC SYSTEM PLANS-$3500 ( THE CLIENT SHALL PROVIDE US WITH A COPY OF THEIR PROPERTY SURVEY WITH TOPOGRAPHIC INFORMATION ON IT).

SOIL SAMPLE LAB FEES- $275 PER SAMPLE- EACH JOB MAY REQUIRE FROM 0-2 SAMPLES BASED ON THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT'S DIRECTIVES).

SOIL EROSION PLAN -$695 ( NOT REQUIRED IN ALL TOWNS).

EXCAVATOR/OPERATOR TO DIG HOLES FOR SAMPLES-$850 ( WE ONLY CHARGE FOR 1 DAY EVEN IF THE TESTING GOES ON FOR 2-3 DAYS. OTHERS MAY CHARGE PER DAY AND THIS MAY ADD UP QUICKLY. SINCE WE OWN OUR EQUIPMENT AND DO NOT SUBCONTRACT OUT THIS SERVICE, WE PASS THE SAVINGS ON TO YOU).

ENGINEERING FEES DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE OF A SINGLE FAMILY SEPTIC SYSTEM
1) All engineering companies will charge for inspections (usually 4-5 inspections for each septic installation),
as builts, construction layout, tank testing, select fill testing and any other services requested by the Health Department. This can add up quickly to over $3000 in most cases.
2) If Precision Excavating is awarded the construction contract, we do not charge for any of the above services. That’s correct. We charge zero dollars for engineering services during the construction phase. We do this because when Precision Excavating is doing the work, our engineers are out there with them most of the time anyway. Secondly, we will not have to deal with an incompetent contractor who causes problems and delays. When Precision excavating does the work, it is done exactly according to the approved plans. No shortcuts or material substitutions take place, which can severely impact the lifespan of your new septic system.
Of course, you are not obligated to choose Precision Excavating for the installation of the septic system, but if you do, you will get the highest quality work at the most reasonable price. Should you not choose Precision Excavating, then all engineering services during the construction phase, which are required by the Health Dept., will be billed at the rate of $150. per hour.
To start the design process, we will need a down payment of $1700 (made out to the design engineer who handles you job) and a separate check for the excavator for $850 (Precision Excavating, LLC). Both checks can be enclosed together with a signed contract in the same envelope. We will then contact the Health Department to arrange for a soil testing date. We will contact the utility companies to do a mark-out and we will make an OPRA request for any records pertaining to your septic system.
Upon completion of the plans and approval by the Health Department, all final payments will be due for the design phase of this project. Please sign below to accept this contract.
